Dear Birth Parent

Let us introduce ourselves and tell you a bit about our lives. Our names are Gerry and Wayne. We are tremendously excited about welcoming a child into our lives.

We realize that you have an extremely important decision to make, one that has no easy answer and must feel overwhelming.

We want to thank you, for considering us, and for being open to placing your child with our family. The fact that you are even considering us, a non-traditional family, indicates you have a pretty open mind, which is something that we value and respect.

To answer some of the questions that you may have, we have put together this letter that describes who we are as a couple, what we will be like as parents, and what kind of family we can make for your child.

A Little About Us

We met in October 1998 and have been friends ever since. In 2000, we started dating and have decided to spend our lives together. We share many things in common.

We are both passionate about cars, enjoy traveling, home improvement, gardening, eating out, and enjoy spending time with our friends and family. We also have a wonderful dog named Gigi, who we spend many hours taking on walks, going to the park, and playing ball with.

We are blessed to have her be part of our lives. We both feel that it is time for us to begin the next chapter of our lives, and to start a family.

About Gerry

Gerry was born in October 1977 in Hong Kong and moved to the United States in 1993 to continue his education. He graduated from UCLA in 2000 with an Engineering degree.

He works at a local University as a computer consultant. He grew up with his younger brother, and parents. He is a perfect example of an engineer major, who can put together and build anything, tile anything, and fix anything. His handiness around the house has turned our home to a wonderful, warm and inviting living environment. Besides working on the house, he also enjoys cooking, gardening, he also has strong interests in arts, music and design.

About Wayne

Wayne is the social and event planner in the household, and makes the holidays especially fun! During college, he minored in Child and Adolescent Studies, and worked as a teaching assistant at a pre-school. He graduated from a Cal State University and works in the Occupational Health Care/Insurance Industry. Being an uncle for the first time in 2003 made him realize how much joy and excitement a child can bring. His new baby niece is awaiting a new cousin and the entire family, cannot wait until a new little one joins the family!

Our Home

We currently reside in South Pasadena, CA. It is about 10 miles east of Downtown Los Angeles, just a few miles south of the home of the Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA. We live in a 3 bedroom house with fantastic neighbors. Our home is walking distance to schools, parks, and shopping, as well as close to our friends and family. Farmer's Market is held just about a block away every week. There are also candy shops, and coffee houses right aroud the corner. It is a very unique city, and is well know for its small-town atmosphere withina Metropolitan area.

Our city has one of the best school districts in the San Gabriel Valley. This is especially important to us because we believe that a great education will become a child’s biggest asset. Being able to expose our child to a diverse culture will definitely allow them to learn in different ways.

Our home is very important to us, and we enjoy many hours together decorating and gardening.
